Lunt was not "in her middle nineties" when he knew her. She died at 91. She also doesn't seem to have been "a hostess of great importance during the Civil War," since, according to this bio, she visited Lincoln at the White House with her father. It doesn't sound as though she spent an extended period in Washington or hosted any parties there. Joe Barronhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16638252347181688694noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1048001146592498987.post-17650451479729606222020-07-21T06:16:35.742-07:002020-07-21T06:16:35.742-07:00I just did (came here via the interview with Cavet...I just did (came here via the interview with Cavett and Welles) and also have found a profound interest in learning more about his woman.<br /><br />I just spent the last 3 hours watching that interview (a few minutes at a time) having fallen into a rabbit hole of interest with regards to Welles and his connection to areas that I am very familiar with as I am from Rockford, IL. <br /><br />Crazy stuff; his life, his connections to Woodstock, Grand Detour, Kenosha and now Evanston - things I never knew about him.<br /><br />I am currently working my way through one of his last film "The Other Side of the Wind" (the making of that film is a fascinating story as well) and the accompanying documentary "They'll Love Me When I'm Dead".<br /><br />Like yourself, I will be coming back to learn more about the life of Ms. Lunt. <br /><br />Amazing quote from her above about what life is "falling down and getting up again both spiritually and physically...".<br /><br />I always spend at least a day riding(bicycle) up to Northwestern's campus from Wrigleyville every summer when I visit the states and lament not being able to get up there this summer - but her life and times will certainly be on my mind and in my spirit the next time I head up there to visit the art museum there. <br /><br />tef2Thomas E.
